ABC Supply Co. Inc. Sponsors Navy Veteran’s Family’s Home Remodel

Company donates materials, volunteers assistance for “Military Makeover” TV show

BELOIT, Wis. — Jan. 7, 2020 — ABC Supply Co. Inc., one of America’s largest wholesale distributors of roofing, siding and other select exterior building products, is committed to employing veterans, having hired 343 in 2019 alone.

To further the company’s commitment to honoring those who have served in our nation’s armed forces, ABC Supply partnered with “Military Makeover,” a TV show that provides free home remodels to deserving veterans and their families. The company was heavily involved in renovating U.S. Navy veteran Chris Hixon’s family’s home. Follow along with the renovation updates when the 10-episode season premieres on the Lifetime network on Feb. 14 at 7:30 a.m. EST/PST.

Hixon, a 27-year Navy veteran who served in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield, lost his life early in 2018 while defending the lives of students in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida. He received military funeral honors before he was laid to rest at the age of 49 at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.

Hixon is survived by his wife, Debra, the daughter of a Navy veteran, and their two sons, Corey, and Thomas, a Marine Corps Reserve officer.

ABC Supply sponsored the roofing component of the renovation – from donating materials to paying for its installation. In addition, a team of ABC Supply associates worked alongside the “Military Makeover” crew and community volunteers to complete the renovation project, which also included updates to the home’s interior and yard.

“American Pride is one of our Core Values, and I couldn’t think of anyone more worthy of a helping hand than Chris’ family,” said Mike Jost, chief operating officer of ABC Supply. “Chris is a true American hero, and we were humbled by the opportunity to help ‘Military Makeover’ give his family the gift of a renovated home.”

The episode featuring the family was filmed in December 2019 and is hosted by Montel Williams, a military veteran himself. After Feb. 14, the episode will be available to watch at https://militarymakeover.tv/.
