The formation of American Builders and Contractors Supply realizes our co-founders’ dream of supporting both customers and associates in every way possible.
1992

ABC Supply becomes the 12th-largest privately held company in Wisconsin and celebrates its 10th anniversary of service to contractors.
2002

As the company enters its third decade, ABC Supply has grown to 256 stores and American Construction Materials begins production.

With 384 locations, ABC Supply joins an exclusive group of 12 global companies to win the first Gallup Great Workplace Award, which uses the most rigorous workplace research ever conducted to recognize the best-performing workforces worldwide.

ABC Supply holds its first Founders’ Celebration, honoring the contributions of Ken Hendricks and his wife, Diane, as well as the Core Values on which ABC Supply has been built. ABC also receives the Gallup Great Workplace Award for the fourth consecutive year—one of only six four-time winners.

Now with more than 450 locations, ABC Supply celebrates its 30th anniversary and sixth consecutive Gallup Great Workplace Award. The company also acquires Superior Supply, adding branches in Bridgeton and Northfield, New Jersey.

With more than 15,000 associates, nearly 800 locations and $12.1 billion in sales, ABC Supply receives its 14th consecutive Gallup Great Workplace Award. The company also opens three locations in Arizona, Massachusetts and North Carolina, completes its expansion of the National Support Center in Beloit, Wisconsin, and acquires the assets of Exterior Building Supply and Midwest Wholesale Materials, adding branches in Idaho and Wisconsin. Its L&W Supply subsidiary also grows to more than 180 locations.
